FAQ
Straight answers before you book
Booking, pricing, and what we do
Is my booking confirmed as soon as I submit it?
No. Submitting the form creates a booking request with a reference number. We review the tasks, photos, and your preferred times, then call or text to confirm the appointment and final price. Nothing is locked in until you hear from us.
Are the prices on the site final?
They are starting prices and package rates. The estimate you see while building your list is provisional; we confirm it after reviewing your request. If something changes on site (a hidden stud, a different wall type), we tell you before doing extra work.
Do you bring the mounts, shelves, or hardware?
We bring standard anchors, fasteners, and tools. Mounts, shelves, curtain rods, and decorative hardware are usually supplied by you; we can pick up standard items for you at cost with your approval.
What don't you do?
Anything that legally requires a licensed trade in New York: new outlets or in-wall power, hardwired fixtures and doorbells, plumbing beyond caulking and accessory mounting, gas, structural, or load-bearing work. Lock installation in NYC also requires a DCWP locksmith license, so we currently offer non-keyed door hardware only. We'll point you to the right pro.
Which neighborhoods do you serve?
At launch: Whitestone, Beechhurst, Bayside, College Point, Flushing, Douglaston and Little Neck in Queens, plus Great Neck and Manhasset in Nassau County. Enter your ZIP at the start of the booking form to check.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes, every visit has a minimum of $150 so we can send an insured technician with the right tools. Combining a few small tasks into one visit is the best value, and our packages are priced for exactly that.
Can I book for a co-op or condo building?
Yes. Tell us about elevator reservations, certificate-of-insurance requirements, or work-hour rules in the access step and we'll handle the paperwork with your management office before the visit.
How do I pay?
We invoice after the work is done and you've signed off. Card, Zelle, and check are accepted. No deposit is collected online.
Who actually shows up?
A Dream Homes technician. Today that is our own crew from the Whitestone office; as the division grows, every technician works from the same checklists, photo requirements, and sign-off process.
Are you licensed and insured?
Dream Homes Handyman operates under Dream Homes Remodeling, which presents itself as a licensed and insured home improvement contractor in NYC and Nassau County on its main website; license details are included on your written estimate. Handyman tasks that require a separate trade license (electrical, plumbing, locksmith) are referred to licensed professionals rather than performed by us.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes. Reply to the confirmation text or call the office. We ask for a day's notice when possible so another customer can take the slot.
Do you offer recurring visits for landlords or property managers?
Yes, through Dream Homes Property Care. Tell us about your portfolio on the property managers page and we'll set up a business account; pricing is quoted per portfolio rather than published.
What happens to my photos and contact details?
They are stored securely with your request and used only to estimate, schedule, and complete your job. We never publish customer details or photos without written permission.
Ready to clear your to-do list?
Build your list online in about three minutes. We review every request, confirm the time and price, and only then lock in your appointment.
